Peterborough Humane Society Officially Opens Off-Leash Dog Park
PETERBOROUGH, ON (September 6, 2024) – Announcement
The Peterborough Humane Society (PHS) celebrated the official opening of the Peterborough Animal Care Centre (PACC) Off-Leash Dog Park.
The Off-Leash Dog Park provides a safe and fun space for the community and furry friends. The Park has been generously sponsored by Pet Supply Warehouse, the locally owned and operated pet retailer has also sponsored the Kitty Cam Room at PACC.

The opportunity to provide pets & people with an open space where they can enjoy some healthy exercise and promote overall enrichment is a great way to keep pets and people together. It is a wonderful addition to our Peterborough Animal Care Centre, and thanks to Ted and the staff at Pet Supply Warehouse, this space is now open for enjoyment.” shared Shawn Morey, Executive Director of the Peterborough Humane Society.

The Off-Leash Dog Park is open during daylight hours for public use. Park regulations can be found posted at the Park and online at peterboroughhumanesociety.ca/more/dog-park/. There is no fee to use the park, donations to the shelter are always appreciated.

The Peterborough Humane Society (PHS) is a registered charity that advocates for animals by rescuing lost, stray and homeless pets throughout Peterborough County. It is an Open Admission for Life Centre and the largest animal shelter in Peterborough County. All animals in their care receive veterinary care, vaccinations and are microchipped, and spayed/neutered prior to being adopted. PHS does not receive any government or institutional funding for their operations and relies on generous donations from the community.
