SNooPy Safe Nights for Pets Program

For a number of years, we’ve been able to keep families together during a crisis, including intimate partner violence, housing displacement due to flood or fire, or a medical emergency, by providing short-term care for companion animals in Peterborough.

Our SNooPy (Safe Nights for Pets) program helps around 60 animals each year, supporting more than 30 families in staying together with their pets and preserving the human-animal bond through difficult times.

Please note that we receive a high volume of requests for the SNooPy program and are not able to accommodate every one. We review all requests based on individual need and our current capacity, and we’ll make every effort to respond within three business days.

We ask that you not visit the shelter without an appointment. If we’re not able to accommodate your request, we’ll do our best to connect you with other supports and services where appropriate.
