PHS Urgent Animal Care Fund
Many of the animals who come through our doors need urgent medical attention before they can be adopted into loving homes. From life-saving surgeries to treatments for serious illnesses, these procedures are often costly — but they are essential to giving animals the chance at a healthy future.
The Urgent Animal Care Fund (formerly the Milo Fund) was created to ensure we can provide this critical care when it is needed most. With the support of our community, we are now expanding the fund to reach even more animals.
Thanks to the addition of dedicated veterinary staff and locums at PHS, we can offer more direct care here at our centre, while still helping animals receive specialized surgeries and treatments when required.
How You Can Help
Your donation to the Urgent Animal Care Fund goes directly toward surgeries, treatments, and emergency veterinary care for animals in need. By giving, you are not only saving lives but also helping to keep pets and people together in our community.

Real Impact in Action
Jimothy, a stray puppy, came to us extremely ill and dangerously thin. He was rushed to an emergency clinic and tested positive for canine parvovirus (CPV), a potentially fatal disease.
Thanks to donations to the fund, Jimothy received the care he needed and made a full recovery. Today, he’s thriving in a loving home with his new family.
Stories like Jimothy’s show the difference this fund makes. Every gift helps animals with urgent medical needs get the care they deserve and find their way home.
