SNooPy Safe Nights for Pets Program
For a number of years, we’ve been able to keep families together experiencing crises — including intimate partner violence, housing displacement due to flood or fire, or medical emergencies — by providing short-term care for companion animals in Peterborough.
Our SNooPy (Safe Nights for Pets) program has helped around 60 animals per year — helping over 30 families and pets stay together, preserving the human-animal bond despite the challenges life might throw their way.
Each case is assessed individually to ensure the owner and their pet are eligible for the program, and provided with support and resources based on their individual needs.
If you are in need of this service or are a service provider with a client in need, please fill out the Safe Nights for Pets Request Program Request form.
We will prioritize and review requests based on the need and our current capacity. We will make every attempt to respond to your requests within 3 business days.
Please note: Our SNooPy program spaces are at capacity and cannot facilitate any new requests at this time. If you submit a Snoopy application, we will contact you only if space becomes available. Please do not visit without an appointment.
Our SNooPy program relies heavily on the generous donations of our supporters.
With a donation of just $50 we can provide a warm bed, food and love to a beloved family pet for a day.
