Are you eager to teach your students about responsible pet ownership and compassion for animals? As an organization who advocates for the welfare of animals, we have different presentations available that we would love to share with you!

HamsterOur presentations are in line with the Ontario curriculum and our humane educator would happily come visit your class. Each program is geared to accommodate kids of different ages – from JK to Grade 7.

Available presentations include:
  • Pet Care and Kindness to Animals (Preschool to Grade 2)
  • Choosing a Pet (Grades 3-5)
  • Responsible Pet Ownership (Kindergarten to Grade 12)
  • Peterborough Humane Society – Who We Are and What We Do (Kindergarten to Grade 7)

Our Humane Education program is meant for children of all abilities. Please let us know about any accommodations that we can provide to make our presentations as inclusive as possible.

If you are interested in having Peterborough Humane Society visit your school or group, please complete the Classroom Visit Request Form at the bottom of this page and the education coordinator will respond to your request shortly.

Classroom visits can be scheduled between 9:00am and 2:00pm, Monday through Friday (Saturday visits may be available upon request). Please note that it is best to book a minimum of 4 – 6 weeks in advance to ensure availability on your preferred date and time.

While we do not charge for our presentations, we do ask for classes to consider collecting donations for the animals in our care. We happily accept both financial and in-kind donations.
