Animal Services

To report a missing or found animal (stray or injured), please call Animal Services: 705-745-4722 X 215

The Peterborough Humane Society Animal Control Department provides education and enforcement related to the animal control by-laws in the following Municipalities within Peterborough County;

City of Peterborough, Selwyn Township, Township of Douro-Dummer, Municipality of Trent Lakes & Township of Otonabee – South Monaghan . For any animal control related issues within these municipalities, please contact animalcontrol@ptbohs.com or call (705) 745-4722 ext. 215.

Animal Cruelty

The Peterborough Humane Society does not investigate cases involving animal cruelty. To report animal cruelty (such as abuse, neglect, abandonment and animal care standards issues) please contact the Provincial Animal Welfare Services at 1-833-9ANIMAL (926-4625) or your local Police Services.
