Auto Connect donates $50,000 to the Peterborough Animal Care Centre

Nov 23, 2022

PETERBOROUGH, ON (November 24, 2022) – Announcement

The Peterborough Humane Society (PHS) has received a $50,000 donation from Auto Connect Sales Inc. The donation will be distributed to the Peterborough Humane Society’s Our Pet Project capital campaign to build the Peterborough Animal Care Centre (PACC).

Cheryl Watson and Martin Tempelman, Owners of Auto Connect recognize the importance of giving back to the community. A portion of every car sold is donated back into local important causes. Auto Connect contributes in many ways to other organizations including the Kawartha Food Share, One Roof, 4 Paws and the Peterborough Humane Society. Raising awareness for community betterment is an important part of their business.

“We love animals more than anything in the world! When we heard of this new Centre coming to Peterborough, we knew it would be important to the community and knew we wanted to be a part of it. This is a big thing for Peterborough, especially the Spay & Neuter Clinic, and we want to be involved every step of the way.” shared Cheryl Watson, Auto Connect “We are also excited to help with the big move, we will be using our cargo vans to help transport the animals to their new home. Our whole team wants to be involved; we can’t wait!”

“Our continued partnership with Auto Connect has been extremely important in the success of our current shelter as well as our new Centre. We are so grateful for the incredible local businesses, like Auto Connect, that go above and beyond to help our community. And we are also excited to give back too; this new Centre will revolutionize animal wellness in Peterborough and beyond. It is truly a Centre built for the community, by the community.” says Shawn Morey, Executive Director at PHS.

In recognition of this generous gift, the round-about at the entrance of the Centre and the front parking lot will be named in recognition of Auto Connect and will also be identified on the Donor Wall located in the lobby of the new PACC.

The Peterborough Animal Care Centre will be over 24,000 square feet and include a state-of-the art Animal Adoption & Education Centre, Publicly Accessible & High-Volume Spay/Neuter Clinic and a Provincial Dog Rehabilitation Centre. Plans for completion and occupancy of the new Centre are targeted for year end, 2022.
