Supporting both ends of the leash
Our Pet Pantry is an initiative dedicated to helping meet our communities needs by ensuring no pet goes hungry through increased access to essential pet supplies and strengthening the human-animal bond.
With the rising cost of pet care being a leading reason for pet surrenders, our goal is to reduce pressures felt by many pet owners by offering support to help keep pets with the families who love them during tough times.
We believe that no one should have to choose between feeding themselves or their pet. Through compassion, community partnerships, and accessible support, we work together to keep pets cared for and strengthen the bond between people and their animals.
Because every leash has two ends that deserve care.
Access
Our Pet Pantry Program offers short-term assistance for individuals and families in Peterborough and surrounding communities who are experiencing hardship and need support caring for their animals.
We do this through two main avenues:
Community Pantry Events
These events give pet owners the opportunity to access essential supplies such as pet food, bowls, collars and leashes, toys, litter, and more.
Anyone in need is welcome to attend. Events are free and open to the public.
Distribution Partners
We work with trusted local organizations to distribute pet food and supplies through their existing programs and locations, helping us reach more people in our community.
Events will be shared on our calendar page, on social media through Instagram and Facebook, as well as through our email newsletter.
Please note:
- This program is intended for short-term support only
- Supplies are based on donations and may vary
Thank you to our community for helping us keep pets fed, loved, and with their families.
