PETERBOROUGH – Announcing the Peterborough Humane Society’s upcoming Valentine’s Day Furball Gala and fundraiser, Saturday, February 14th, 2015. For the love of Animals!

A full night of spectacular entertainment is planned. Canadian Country Music Award Winners, ‘Small Town Pistols’ will be the highlight of the event, as well as a live auction with the fabulous Rob Rusland, a sensational gourmet dinner created by The Venue, a mystery diamond raffle and so much more.

This year’s Furball Gala will also be host to a very special children’s book launch. Angel in a Dog Suit, proudly endorsed by the PHS and the Ontario OSPCA, is a true story that takes us on a bumpy, yet heartwarming journey through the life of one tiny dog, from puppy mill survivor to her forever home. The book was authored and illustrated by our friends Mary Giuffre and Paul L. Clark, of inspirtainment ink, with the foreword written by Ontario SPCA Chief Inspector, Connie Mallory, the first woman in North America to hold this position within the SPCA. Giuffre and Clark will also be our guests at the Gala.

The Peterborough Humane Society’s Executive Director, Judy O’Brien, discovered Angel in a Dog Suit in the summer of 2014 and knew right away that she wanted to support the book in any way possible. “I’ve been waiting for a book like this to come along.” O’Brien said. “I love that it tells the full story and emotion from rescue, to shelter life to forever home. This book will do so much to create awareness of the humane treatment of animals.”

An Annual event hosted by the Peterborough Humane Society, the Furball Gala is one of their premier fundraising events. All proceeds will go into the ‘Milo Fund’ to provide emergency medical procedures for animals in their care.
Sponsorship opportunities for this event and Gala tickets are still available. Please help give animals in the care of the Peterborough Humane Society a second chance!
